Baiana are delighted to announce they will be supporting GILBERTO GIL for his show at the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic on Wednesday July 27.

Gilberto’s music inspired the formation of the band and the chance to share a billing with the Brazilian legend is “a dream come true” according to singer Laura Doyle.

Laura said: “Gilberto is THE most visionary Brazilian singer, songwriter and musician of all time, it is impossible to over-estimate his cultural importance and contribution to world music.

“He cast a spell over me many years ago, his work ignited my passion for Brazilian music and inspired me to form Baiana. We are incredibly excited to be supporting him and his family – it is a dream come true!”
